Many of our 2008 customers will remember Bridie who worked behind our bar in the daytime.  Bridie is now helping out at the local Animal Sanctuary and spends her days looking after numerous dogs, cats & donkeys.   How you can help the Animals We know from all the generosity our customers have shown over the last 4 years, that the stray animals of Alvor touch the hearts of many visitors. There are a number of things that can really help the strays have a better a life and we are grateful if you can help:- R The Animal Sanctuary uses litres of washing up liquid and washing powder cleaning bowls and blankets.  If you have any left over at the end of the holiday, we will be pleased to take it in at the bar and pass it on to the Sanctuary. R If you are thinking of leaving your beach towel behind, perhaps you would hand it in to the bar to be used as a blanket at the Sanctuary. R Do you have any old leads or collars that you no longer need?  If so, the Sanctuary would be delighted to receive them. R We have a choice of calendars on sale behind the bar at a cost of €10.  One has photographs of Alvor and the other has photos of local animals.   All profits from the sale of these calendars will be used to help ill or injured animals or will be donated to local organisations to help vaccinate and feed rescued animals.
