Mark & Ali Mark & Ali got married in 1989 and lived on the Wirral in the North West of England.  Mark has been a musician and Equity member since his teenage years and has played in bands since the age of 13.  In 2002 they decided to leave the rat race and travel across Europe in a caravan with Mark  "singing for their supper" when necessary.  Their first year's travels took them to a ski resort, Les Deux Alpes, in the French Alps and then to Portugal and, loving both places so much, their exploring stopped there. They now spend the summers working and enjoying themselves in the bar in Alvor where so many customers have become friends who return each year. Their winters are spent in Les Deux Alpes where Mark can be found singing every Apres-Ski at Smokey Joe's Bar & Restaurant.		Rachel As you will probably guess from her outfit, Rachel is another friend "imported" from France. Originally from England, Rachel also decided to leave the rat race and move out to Les 2 Alpes. Fortunately for us, Rachel has agreed to come and look after the bar for us during the day time this summer
Tertulia Restaurant The talents of Mark & Ali are geared to creating a friendly, holiday atmosphere and serving beer from frozen glasses, exotic cocktails and well prepared drinks.   Our friends, Carlos and Luis, at the Tertulia Restaurant have provided the answer for our customers who enjoy the "Cactos Experience" but would like a bite to eat.  They have put together a menu for our Cactos Bar customers to choose from which will be prepared by Chef Carlos and brought to your table by Luis. Their menu caters for customers who wish to sample some traditional Portuguese dishes (every visitor to Portugal should try the hot and spicy Chicken Piri Piri) but also caters for those who prefer a more traditional menu including steak, salads, omelettes, burgers and toasties. We would also recommend you find time during your stay in Alvor to visit their restaurant where they have a full A la Carte Menu and, of course, a feast of fresh seafood dishes.		Debs (the Singing Barmaid)! For the fifth season running, glamorous Debs is back behind the bar every night. Debs has been living in Alvor for years but currently spends her winters in England with her family, where she works as a nanny. If you are lucky, you will hear Debs treating us to a Carpenters song (as long as she's had enough Bacardi)!   "Tonight Matthew, I'm Karen Carpenter"
